In this 75-minute virtual mini-game challenge, our hosts from the “IOC” will split your group up into small teams, and you'll set out to compete against each other in 6 Olympics-themed events! Along the way, you'll have to work together to rack up points for your team as quickly as possible because when the dust settles, only one team will take home Gold, and with it, bragging rights in the office for the next four years!
How It Works
➡️ Before the activity, we’ll split your group up into teams of 5 - 8 participants.
➡️ The teams will then compete against each other in 6 events. They are:
- The Opening Ceremony: Teams will work together to create a creative, wild, wacky 30-45 second skit to introduce themselves! The skits will be critiqued by the toughest judges of all - your peers!
- The Triviathlon: Your team will now be put to the ultimate test of focus and endurance - a timed quiz on your knowledge of the Olympics and sports-related pop culture! Can your collective brains vault you into an early lead on the scoreboard?
- Bonus Round!: A surprise opportunity-of-a-lifetime for your team to earn (or lose) points on the road to the Gold. We hope your voice is ready...
- The Olympics Poster Time Trials: You’ve just been entered into a contest to create the official poster for Paris ‘24! The only catch? The deadline’s in 10 minutes! Can you and your team work together to create a poster that will steal the spotlight and take the grand prize?
- Bonus Round!: Another surprise opportunity for teams to earn (or lose) points on the road to the Gold. It’s a game of estimations where anything can (and will) happen!
- The Closing Ceremony: The International Olympics Committee judges will now give some secret presents to the most (and least!) deserving teams to complete the competition. The final scores will then be tallied and the final standings will be revealed!

The Summer Olympics is great for anyone interested in a fun-filled, Olympics-themed activity.
🔴 The Summer Olympics is a browser-based activity and requires no downloads or logins. We recommend that all participants join from a computer.
👪 Participants: Broken up into teams of up to 5-8 people. Breakout rooms will be used about 50% of the time.
💻 Virtual vs. Hybrid vs. In-Person: Due to the nature of this game, The Summer Olympics will be just as fun regardless of whether your team is completely virtual, hybrid or entirely in-person. Our Hosts will make sure that you have a blast no matter where your team is located!

Brought in Runaway Games to host our Halloween Happy Hour tonight! It was seriously so fun and the employees all had a blast. I really liked the way the puzzles were laid out and how they varied from each other. It kept it super entertaining and my team was super focused!

Because the skills that were tested at each section are distinctively different, each member of your team will have something to contribute.

Our Hosted Activities are all 45 to 90 minutes in duration, moderated by our amazing team members, and feature gaming experiences that we’ve hand picked and developed specifically for a virtual format. Many of these activities utilize breakout rooms, so we provide 1 host for every ~5 participants to make sure you have all the energy and hype you need to have a great time! For around the price of a movie ticket, we’ll treat you to a fun, unique experience that you’ll never forget.
Our activities are available for booking 24 hours a day / 7 days a week! While we have never turned a client down due to lack of availability, we do kindly ask that groups up to 30 participants give us at least 2 days’ notice, and groups of greater than 30 participants give us at least 1 weeks’ notice.
All of our Hosted Activities are designed to be delivered in 45 to 90 minutes. The exact duration of each activity can be found by clicking on the activity from the Hosted Activities page.
We support all of the “Big Four” platforms - Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Webex by Cisco. Don’t use one of those platforms? No problem. If we can download it and it has breakout rooms, we can use it :)
We can assign you Hosts that speak English, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, Bahasa Melayu/Indonesia, Spanish, Russian, Polish, or Ukrainian!If you would like a non-English speaking host, you can request this at the checkout page. However, please do note that all of our game content is currently only available in English and Spanish.
